Shipping to the USA — one container, one flat freight rate

Ocean freight to the United States is priced per container, not per unit. One flat rate of €4,500 covers the shipment whether it carries a single sauna or thirty. That single fact decides how you should order.

A single unit carries the whole container on its back — the freight ends up costing more than the sauna. From ten units up it falls below 10% of product cost, and a full 40'HC container brings it to roughly €150 per sauna. That is why we quote container orders from ten units and not below.

Mixed containers are welcome — the volume tier follows the total number of units in the shipment, not the count per model. Dealer pricing is sent on request; email us and the full dealer program comes back the same day.

What the rate covers, and what it does not

€4,500 is port-to-port ocean freight — from our port of loading to your US port of entry. From there you take over as the importer of record: customs clearance, import duty and inland delivery are on your side. We do not mark them up and we do not guess them for you.

You are invoiced net, with no European VAT. A sale shipped outside the EU is an export at 0% VAT, so nothing on our invoice needs reclaiming later.

Trade terms

• Incoterms: CFR — your US port of entry
• Minimum order: 10 units, any mix of models
• Payment: 50% on order confirmation, 50% before loading (bank transfer, EUR)
• Lead time: about 6 weeks production plus 4–5 weeks ocean transit to the East Coast
• Packaging: flat-pack, export grade, container loaded by us with packing list, commercial invoice and certificate of origin
• White label: partner catalogue without our branding, so you can sell the line under your own name

How it works

1. You tell us which models, how many units and your port of entry.
2. We quote within two business days — unit prices, freight, a loading plan and a production slot.
3. You confirm with 50% down; production starts and we hold the slot.
4. We load and ship. Balance is due before loading; documents travel with the container so your broker can clear it without chasing us.

Questions dealers ask first

What duty will I pay? That depends on your classification and port, and you or your customs broker are better placed to confirm it than we are. We supply the certificate of origin and a detailed commercial invoice so the classification is straightforward.

Can you include heaters? Yes, Harvia units can be supplied — but US electrical certification (UL/ETL) and 240V single-phase specification have to be confirmed model by model. Many US dealers source heaters domestically; the saunas ship equally well without them.

Can I sell them under my own brand? Yes. We provide a partner catalogue with no SAUNADO branding.

Can I mix models in one container? Yes, and most first orders do — it is the cheapest way to find out what your market buys.

Can I order fewer than ten? You can, but we will tell you honestly that the freight math stops working in your favour. Below ten units the container cost per sauna outweighs the margin you would make.
