A good sauna is about its construction, stove, and wood. But good sauna bathing is about the details. Properly selected sauna stones that release steam softly and evenly, instead of hissing and crackling. A few drops of essential oil in a ladle of water, transforming an ordinary session into a ritual. The scent of eucalyptus hovering over the heated stove, the quiet crackle of stones working in the warmth. In this collection, you'll find sauna accessories that take care of these details: Harvia stove stones in two fractions and forms, and a collection of essential oils for pouring. All with Raben courier delivery within Poland: 200 PLN, charged at checkout.

Harvia Stove Stones – The Foundation of Good Steam

Stone in a sauna is not just decoration. It's a heat accumulator: it heats up from the heaters or fire, and then – when water is poured over it – it releases the heat as gentle, dense steam. The quality and arrangement of the stones determine whether the löyly will be soft or sharp and "stinging" to the skin.

    • Broken stones 5–10 cm, 20 kg – from 250 PLN. A universal fraction for most Harvia electric heaters. Smaller stones tightly fill the chamber and quickly release steam.
    • Broken stones 10–15 cm, 20 kg – from 250 PLN. A larger fraction for wood-burning stoves and spacious electric heaters – they retain heat longer and burn out slower.
    • Rounded stones 5–10 cm, 15 kg – from 230 PLN. Polished, dark pebbles: better air circulation between the stones and a beautiful appearance in stoves with an exposed basket.
    • Rounded stones 10–15 cm, 20 kg – from 250 PLN. For large stoves and saunas where sessions last a long time – massive stones release heat for hours.

With regular sauna use, stones should be replaced every 1–2 years. This is the cheapest way to make an older sauna steam like new again. If you're just planning a purchase, check out our sauna sets with a stove – you can choose the stones immediately for a specific Harvia model.

Sauna Oils – The Scent That Guides the Session

Steam itself is relaxing. Steam with a hint of pine, mint, or citrus – it builds the entire atmosphere of the session. The collection of essential oils (from 100 PLN) is a set of natural aromas composed for pouring: eucalyptus for breathing, coniferous trees for evening relaxation, fresh notes for morning sauna bathing.

The rule is simple: add a few drops of oil to the water in the ladle, and only then pour this mixture over the stones. Never pour pure oil directly onto hot stones – it will burn instead of evaporating, leaving an unpleasant smell instead of an aroma. This is how sauna masters work during aufguss ceremonies – our ambassador Radosław "Radek" Sieraj, Polish Sauna Champion (The Battle of Gladiators, Aufguss-WCF 2026) with advancement to the World Championships, builds entire sessions on this: scent, towel rhythm, music. You can read more about this art on the sauna bathing and rituals page.

Sauna Accessories Worth Having on Hand

When completing your equipment, think about the entire session: heating, steam, aroma – and cooling. Fresh stones and well-chosen essential oil are the heart of the sauna, and a cold shower or a tub of cool water completes the contrast ritual, after which you sleep like after a long day by the lake. Sauna Accessories – Frequently Asked Questions

What Harvia stove stones should I choose?

For electric stoves, the 5–10 cm fraction is most common – it fills the basket tightly and quickly releases steam. For wood-burning stoves and large chambers, the 10–15 cm fraction is better. If in doubt, check the manual for your Harvia model – the manufacturer specifies the recommended size and weight of the filling.

How to arrange stones in the stove?

Loosely, with larger ones at the bottom and smaller ones at the top – so that air can circulate freely between them. Do not force stones between the heating elements: too tight a filling blocks circulation, overheats the heating elements, and shortens their lifespan.

    How to dose sauna oils?

Usually 3–5 drops per ladle of water is enough – the aroma should be a background to the session, not an assault. Always mix the oil with water before pouring it over the stones and start with a smaller dose: the scent in hot air carries more strongly than you expect.

How do you know when the stones are worn out?

They crumble, lighten in color, cracks appear, and fine rubble accumulates at the bottom of the basket, and the steam becomes "flat" and quickly disappears. This is a signal for replacement – with regular sauna use, every 1–2 years. It's also a good idea to vacuum the stove chamber for crumbs.
