Small garden saunas for 1-2 people: relaxation that fits anywhere
You don't need a large plot of land to enjoy a real sauna every day. A small garden sauna typically occupies 2β4 mΒ², less than a garden swing, and provides exactly what a sauna is bought for: temperatures of 80β100Β°C, the scent of heated wood, and an evening ritual that washes away the day's stresses. In this category, we have gathered compact barrel saunas, mini cubic saunas with panoramic glazing, and small indoor saunas that will fit in a bathroom, garage, or attic.
All models are made in the European Union according to Finnish design, from Scandinavian wood or thermowood, and work with Harvia heaters: electric or wood-fired. We provide a 2-year warranty for each sauna, and courier delivery by Raben within Poland is included in the price.
Who is a 1-2 person sauna for?
- You have a small garden, terrace, or patio β a mini sauna can fit where a full-sized model wouldn't even enter. A barrel sauna 130 cm long or a cubic sauna with a base of approximately 1.5 Γ 1.5 m will not dominate the space, and in winter, it looks better in the garden than many gazebos.
- You sauna as a couple β for a couple or someone who appreciates solitary relaxation, a larger cabin means only a higher electricity bill and longer waiting time for heating. A sauna for 2 people is simply tailored for real use.
- You are counting costs β smaller cubic capacity means a smaller heater, quicker heating, and significantly lower energy consumption (specific figures below).
- This is your first sauna β a lower entry price point allows you to check if sauning becomes a habit for you, without an investment of tens of thousands of zlotys.
How much electricity does a small sauna consume? A specific calculation
A 1-2 person sauna only needs a Harvia electric heater with a power of approximately 4.5 kW. Heating a small cabin to 80β90Β°C takes about 35β45 minutes; the heater then operates at full power and consumes about 2.7β3.4 kWh. During the sauna session itself, the thermostat only cycles to maintain the temperature, so the actual consumption drops by about half, to approximately 2β2.5 kWh per hour. The entire evening session, including heating, totals about 5β6 kWh, which at a price of about 1 PLN per kilowatt-hour, amounts to 5β6 PLN per evening. If you sauna three times a week, you will pay approximately 60β80 PLN per month. For comparison: a large family sauna with an 8β9 kW heater will consume almost twice as much for the same session. If you prefer sauning completely independent of electricity, most models can also be ordered with a wood-fired Harvia heater.
RadosΕaw "Radek" Sieraj, saunamaster and SAUNADO ambassador, reiterates that it is not one spectacular ceremony that makes the form, but regularity β a short, peaceful session several times a week. For such daily sauning, a compact sauna is best suited: it heats up quickly, consumes little electricity, and is two steps from the patio doors. Fifteen minutes in the warmth, a cool shower β and the evening looks completely different.
R-SONIA 130 or R-UKU 130: which small sauna to choose?
R-SONIA 130 is our favorite in this category: a mini cube with large-format panoramic glazing, priced at 14,375 PLN. Its simple, modern shape looks like a small garden pavilion, and the glass wall makes even the compact interior seem spacious. You sit in the warmth and look at your own garden, at the snow, or at the sunset. This model is for those who want their sauna to also be an adornment to their property.
R-UKU 130 is a classic barrel sauna in a compact version, starting from 9,499 PLN. The round cross-section has its physical advantages: hot air circulates naturally along the walls, so the barrel heats up quickly and evenly, without cold spots near the floor. If you are looking for the lowest entry price into a real garden sauna and like a traditional, Scandinavian character, this will be a hit.
In short: choose R-SONIA for design, views, and the "wow" effect, and R-UKU 130 for the best value for money and fast heating. The category is complemented by ELLA in its garden version, and if you prefer to sauna indoors, we also have compact indoor models CUBE ELLA and ELLA H1 and H2, which are small saunas for home starting from 8,890 PLN.
Frequently Asked Questions about small garden saunas
Does a small garden sauna require a building permit?
In most cases, no. A 1-2 person sauna is a freestanding object with an area of 2β4 mΒ², well below the thresholds requiring a permit. However, regulations may vary depending on local zoning plans, so it's worth briefly checking the situation with your local council before purchasing.
Electric or wood-fired heater?
A Harvia electric heater offers convenience: you switch it on, enter after about 40 minutes, and a thermostat maintains the temperature. It requires a properly secured connection; for 4.5 kW power, typically a three-phase supply, which is standard work for an electrician. A wood-fired heater, on the other hand, offers the ritual of burning and complete independence from electrical installations. It will be ideal for recreational plots without a strong power connection.
How long do I wait for the sauna and what does delivery look like?
Order fulfillment takes 4β6 weeks. Courier delivery by Raben within Poland is included in the sauna price. Upon request, we can also arrange professional installation: a team will arrive, assemble, and start the sauna, and you can enjoy your first session on the very same day.
Can I pay for the purchase in installments?
Yes. You can pay via Przelewy24 in the store, and convenient Klarna installments are also available. You can purchase the sauna without committing the entire amount at once.
Will a sauna for 2 people not be too cramped?
No, provided it is well designed. Our small saunas have ergonomically planned benches and full-height seating, and glazing, like the panorama in R-SONIA, optically enlarges the interior. Two people can sit comfortably side by side; one person can even stretch out.
